wedge Four Easy Steps:
*- 4 "Easy" Steps
1) Generate Route in a folder and save it as a KML file.

2) Convert from KML to GPX format using GPSBableGUI front-end
a. Select Input format "Keyhole Markup Language"
b. Open your saved KML file
c. Select Output format "GPX XML"
d. Choose save file name.
e. Check each box for Waypoints, Routes and Tracks
f. Click "Let's Go"

3) Add DEM data using Topofusion
a. Open new GPX file
b. Select "Climbing Analysis" under the "Analysis" menu
c. Click on "Add Elevation to Track" button on lower left. Close window
d. In lower right window, click on trail name (next to red earth)
and "Save file" (Earth will turn green again)

4) Create actual Profile
a. Add GPX file using browse button
b. Choose options (like Metric/U.S. units, location of key, turn off red
lines between segments, etc.)
c. Click generate profile.
