  1. Hi David

Thought I’d drop you a quick line for several reasons. Firstly to say how much I enjoy your podcast and always look forward to the next episode. I’m writing this email/comment from over the pond in Dorset, England and like your listeners, appreciate the passion of cyclists all over, whether professional, amateur, commuter or good old weekend warrior.

There are two main reasons for contacting you. The first is to follow up on ‘bad driving’ and our behaviour towards them. I was on a club run last weekend with the Piers Road Pedalers, a club that was formed this year from a charity run event organised by the Piers Simon appeal. Without digressing, while out on our ride, we were passed by 3 rides that were obviously going at a faster pace than our group. We passed pleasantries and off they sped. A mile or so up the road, we came across them again, but facing the other way. It turned out that a vehicle that had passed both groups, decided to pass them and stop, causing a near fatal accident as the tail rider had to take evasive action into on coming traffic. On reaching them, they wanted blood!! You sprang to mind and I blocked the riders off and asked them what happened. I then asked if they had a camera and suggested taking a picture and report him to the police. A few comments were made (from a distance) the picture was taken and off they rode, shaken, but with a plan.

The second reason is again about something you raised in one of your podcasts. This time about the motoring show Top Gear and Jeremy Clarksons comments about cyclists. In the summer edition of Cycling Active. Mrs Jezza has been caught on camera cycling. Not just going to the shops, but fully kitted. He must be gutted!!

    Keep up the great work.

    Simon
    Weekend Warrior.
